About Us
Our Origins
In 2021, Women in Tech (WiT) was founded as a special interest group in Singapore Management University that aims to:

Stoke a passion for technology among students regardless of gender or faculty

Lower the tech industry's barriers to entry by equipping interested parties with relevant skills
Our Cause
Addressing diversity issues in the tech industry
Low female participation in the tech workforce
Women still only make up around 41% of the tech workforce in Singapore
Low ratio of female to male university tech graduates
Only about 29% of Singaporean university tech graduates are female
Poor workplace retention of women in all industries
In Singapore, women comprise of only around 12% of all CEO and board-level positions
